Automobile Insurance Quote

There are proven ways to save on your car insurance like comparing quick auto insurance quotes. Find these and more explained in this article.

The first step to saving is doing a thorough comparison shopping. This can be done very easily today. Simply go to quotes comparison sites, get quick auto insurance quotes and compare rates offered by different insurance companies for the cover you need. This is the very first step to making huge savings.

It is important to make use of an independent comparison site and not sites set up by insurance companies to make them look better than others. If you are not sure which independent quotes comparison site to use, I have provided you with some help in the link below.

When you make a claim, there is an amount you are expected to pay before the insurance company would make good on your claim. This amount known as a deductible is a pre-set amount. Setting the amount to a higher figure would result in a lower premium for you while a lower amount would result in higher premiums for you. Raise your deductible and pay less in premiums.

For people who drive old cars whose value is very low, it would be wise to drop your collision and comprehensive coverage as the settlement you would get if your car is damaged would be less than what you’ve been spending on premium combined with your deductible.

Many insurance companies would give you a discount if you got multiple policies from them. Check and confirm that the savings you would by doing this is worth it before doing it.

Improve the safety and security features of your car and you would certainly reduce your premium. The simple rule to follow is this: Anything that results in your car becoming safer or more secure has reduced the likelihood of your making a claim and therefore the insurer can afford to give you some discount for taking these steps.

To make the fullest savings, do not forget to start by getting and comparing quick auto insurance quotes from independent comparison sites.

Help with automobile insurance?

I’m an 18 year old female with no prior car accidents or speeding tickets. I have a part time job and I’m going to be starting classes at a local community college soon. Around how much do you think auto insurance would be for 1) a motorcylce and 2) a small sedan

I already know I can get free quotes but I just wanted to see people’s estimates so I can guess around how much this will set me back per month. I know I should be more specific but again I just need educated guesses. Thanks!

Depends on the state.
But it’s going to be high to get insurance on your own. You might be able to have your parents on your insurance to bring down the price a bit. Being young is a risk factor in insurance, and you’ll be qualified as a youthful driver either until you’re married or you’re 25 (depending on the state), when rates will go down. There are things that you can do to bring things down. First of all, drive a safe vehicle, and probably an older one. If you have an older car and just want liability insurance on it (you cover other people if you get in an accident) without the additional comprehensive (hit a deer, parked car gets hit, etc) and collision (accidents), you’ll save money, because comp & collision is expensive. If you have to have comp & collision (newer car, car is worth fixing if in accident, have a loan on the vehicle), you can put a higher deductible (the amount you would pay if your car is in an accident) to lower the cost of the premium. And then there are discounts. Because you have no tickets on your record, you can most likely qualify for some type of safe driver discount. Once you’re going to school, you can get a good driver discount (usually you need a GPA of 3.0 or higher for this), and some companies might give you a defensive driver discount if you take additional driving courses. Make sure to ask any agent who is giving you a quote about discounts, and get quotes from a few different places (keep the quotes and details they give you) so you can shop around. Have the agents explain all of the different coverages and what everything on the policy means.
For a sedan, you might be looking at $100 a month because you’re so young. For a motorcycle, you might not be able to get coverage without already having an auto policy in the household (this can be helped by being in your parents’ household on insurance), but if you can get motorcycle insurance, it is noticably cheaper than a car to insure, I usually see yearly premiums under $200. Motorcycle insurance is really different compared to auto, though.

Hope I helped. :)
